During the intensitive work with the book DANCING HANDS I have realized that the methods I am teaching must be presentet in a new context.

The word ergonomics will (almost) not more be used. because it is not "operationel" , it is not so usefull.  A dentist might say I work so and so, but not ergonomically - which means he/she is working in bad workpostures, with disturbed concentration, loose time and is unnecessary tired.

By using the therm MANUAL COMPETANCE the situation above will be described as the dentist (and assistant) is workin with "INSUFFICIENT MANUAL COMPETANCE". This indicate the specific need for knowledge and training for dentist and for assistant.

Compared with the GOLDEN STANDARD of the book DANCING HANDS, and my courses we can now determine the POTENTIAL FOR IMPROVED MANUAL COMPETANCE.

One can ask : Is it not possible to work differently as presented. The short answer is NO - not without al variaty if negative consequenses. The long answer is - read the book DANCING HANDS, and / or participate in Herluf courses.

THE GOLDEN STANDARD FOR MANUAL COMPETANCE can be learned and practises by all dentists and assistants. IT CAN BE LEARNED BY ALL --- AND SHOULD BE SO TOO.

Most is however unknown or non conscious to most dentists.

For the moment some very interesting courses in 2014 are booked-
